Tribulus Terrestris Benefits In Bodybuilding

For a man, his masculinity is seemingly everything, and if there’s one thing that goes hand in hand with masculinity, it’s testosterone.

The human body is a truly remarkable creation, capable of wondrous things that many of us could very have deemed possible before extensive scientific research was performed.

Nowadays, thanks to the advances in modern technology and medicine, we now have a much better understanding of how the human body works.

Sadly, as remarkable as the human body is, at times, it does tend to let us down, with some people being affected worse than others.

Men, for example, are considered to be at their peak in their twenties – thirties, yet after these points, they are thought to decline, which is mainly down to natural testosterone production.

When we’re teenagers, at around the age of sixteen, once we really hit puberty, testosterone levels go crazy, which is why many teenagers experience growth spurts, changes in behaviour, and changes in libido as a result.

As the years go by, these levels begin to increase, until they finally peak, and then sadly decline pretty rapidly.

The good news, however, is that one natural green herb that grows in the wild, could provide the solution to all of our low testosterone problems – the herb in question, is none other than Tribulus Terrestris.

What Is Tribulus Terrestris?

Tribulus goes by many different names and nicknames, including: Trib, Devil’s weed, and Horny Goats weed.

Yes, you did read that right, it is also known as Horny Goat weed, due partly to the fact that it, term, shall we say, enhances the libido.

Tribulus Terrestris is a flowering plant/herb that grows in the wild, all across the globe.

Though it is found in Native America, it is found mainly parts of Europe, Southern Asia, Australia, and even parts of Africa.

This herb, however, is not used due to its pretty flowers, or for culinary uses, but it is instead used for supplementation purposes.

Tribulus Terrestris Benefits

Athletes and bodybuilders are constantly on the lookout for supplements and products that will give them an edge over their competitors, in a safe and natural way, I.E without the use of anabolic steroids.

Tribulus is proving to be incredibly popular, due to the fact that it has been found to be a very potent and powerful testosterone boosting supplement.

There are many benefits associated with high testosterone levels, and indeed, many benefits associated with the use of Tribulus as a whole, so for that reason, let’s now take a look at some of the main Tribulus Terrestris benefits.

1. Boosts Testosterone

Obviously we’ll start with the most obvious benefit, and indeed the catalysts for all of the other Tribulus Terrestris benefits, we’ll be adding to this list as we go on.

Tribulus Terrestris is an incredibly potent testosterone boosting supplement, that has the ability to increase natural testosterone production in a matter of days.

Testosterone is the dominant male sexual hormone, produced primarily in the testes.

It plays a key role in a number of different processes and functions within the human body, yet sadly, once we hit 30 or so, testosterone levels begin to decline more and more.

There are actually health risks associated with low testosterone, so taking Tribulus terrestris on a daily basis is a great way of helping to dodge these risks, or to deal with them before they get any worse.

2. Increased Muscle Mass

One of the reasons why bodybuilders tend to include Tribulus terrestris as part of their supplement stack is down to the fact that the herb has been found to help promote increased muscle mass, which again, is mainly down to testosterone production.

The more testosterone that is found within the body, the more muscle mass a person is generally going to have.

Testosterone not only assists with the growth of new muscle, it also assists with the repair of damaged muscle tissue, and keeps the body in a constant anabolic state, which basically means that it constantly allows the body to build increased lean muscle mass.

As testosterone helps to reduce recovery time in between workouts, the muscles can recover much quicker, so you can get into the gym much quicker, with your muscles fully healed and fully repaired.

3. It Boosts The Libido

Let’s face it, a reduced libido can be detrimental to our mental health, and it can put a strain on people’s relationships as well. If your sex life is suffering, your relationship may eventually begin to suffer, and nobody wants that.

One of the main causes of a low libido is a low testosterone count, and as Tribulus has been found to be so impressive at boosting testosterone, the more testosterone you have, the higher your libido will be.

Put simply, Tribulus will make you horny and will ramp up your sex drive.

4. It Can Treat Sexual Health Dysfunctions

As well as just helping to improve libido, other Tribulus Terrestris benefits include the fact that it can treat a variety of other sexual health dysfunctions and issues as well.

Men suffering from impotence, or men who struggle to maintain erections, have reported huge improvements when taking Tribulus terrestris for as little as just 7 days.

Although not life threatening, suffering from a sexual health dysfunction can take a real toll on a person’s mental health and well-being, and can make men feel inferior and self conscious.

This wonder herb, however, has the ability to sort all of the above, in a matter of days.

5. It Can Elevate Strength Levels

As well as bodybuilders, who train for aesthetic purposes I.E to look good on stage, strength athletes and powerlifters, who train, well, for strength, also take Tribulus terrestris on a daily basis, with the vast majority of them all noticing very impressive increases in their overall strength levels.

This is again down to the testosterone, which helps the muscles to perform more efficiently and to generate more power.

The more power they generate, the stronger they become.

For anybody looking to increase their strength, even if you just want to increase your bench slightly, adding Tribulus terrestris to your supplement stack is a smart decision to make.

6. It Enhances Sperm Motility

As well as fitness benefits, Tribulus can also be beneficial for couples trying for a baby, as numerous studies have found that men that supplemented with this ingredient for six weeks, noticed significant increases in sperm motility levels, which meant that the sperm cells were not only more active, but they were also stronger and were therefore far more likely to be able to penetrate the female egg and fertilize it.

Men who take around 500mg of Tribulus on a daily basis, are far more likely to see vast improvements in sperm motility levels, in as little as just six weeks.

What’s more, there is also evidence to suggest that the herb could also help to improve a man’s fertility as well.

7. Works As A Great Pre-workout

Many pre-workout supplements designed to increase energy levels and mental focus in the gym, are loaded full of powerful stimulants, including caffeine, which can be bad for you in large doses, and can also keep you awake at night, which will not only make you look and feel miserable, it will also harm your training the next day, as well as your post-workout recovery.

Nowadays however, more people are using Tribulus terrestris as a pre-workout supplement as it has the ability to improve mental focus and natural energy levels.

For optimal results, many bodybuilders combine it with creatine around 30 minutes before they hit the gym, and they notice very significant improvements as a result.

8. It Promotes Fat Loss

Ok, taking Tribulus terrestris alone isn’t going to melt away pounds upon pounds of body fat, but there is strong evidence which suggests that it can promote slight improvements in fat loss, mainly down to the fact that it increases energy production, so you can exercise for longer, and can therefore burn more calories.

Though not an astonishingly impressive fat burner by itself, it can still provide improvements and as the saying goes ‘every little helps’.

9. It’s Safe

Finally, and one of the most important Tribulus Terrestris benefits, as it is a natural supplement, with extensive research behind it, experts have deemed Tribulus terrestris to be safe, even at high doses.

Obviously you should never exceed the stated dosage, but if you do opt for a higher strength Tribulus product, providing you use it as instructed, you will be perfectly safe and healthy.

    Hello man.
I’ve stumbled upon your site recently and really appreciate your work here and your devotion.
I have one question for you about this subject (Tribulus).
Since I have turned 50 in august and been feeling constantly exhausted, even started to have erection problems (mostly because of misusing diazepams), I turned to BIOTech’s Tribulus Maximus (1500mg per tablet), and really started to feel like a horny goat. I was instructed to take one pill a day for 90 days in a row, or 2 pills a day for the first 10 days, and after that to hang on to 1 pill until I turn 60 days in total. After that, I should stop taking Tribulus for the next 15 days, because body stops recognizing it and can no longer produce increased levels of testosteron, meaning, a body is supposed to be reset for those 2 weeks. After that, I can continue with the same tribulus intake dynamics as before, until 90 (one pill a day) or 60 days (two pills in the first 10 days).
So my queation is for how long could I be using the tribulus pills withous making any harm to my liver or any other organ? How many years exactly? Could I do it until I die (and I’m not planning to do it soon)? Is it really safe to mess with any hormone and to expect there will be no consequences?
I believe you understand my question and my cocerns. Keep the good work, man, and thanks in advance
